فروپاشي شوروي و پايان جنگ سرد، اهميت ژئوپلتيك و منطقه گرايي را در نظام بين الملل دوچندان كرده، به طوري كه بسياري از كشورها در سياست خارجي خود منطقه گرايي را به عنوان اصلي ثابت و اساسي جهت ﺗﺄمين منافع و امنيت ملي خود برگزيده اند. نگاه عملي و نظري در طول سال هاي گذشته در سياست خارجي ايران عدم توجه به راهبرد نگاه به شرق و نگاه يك جانبه به غرب، باعث غفلت از ساير مراكز و منابع قدرت و ثروت جهاني به خصوص در نزديكي مرزها گشته است، اما در سال هاي اخير راهبرد نگاه به شرق، به راهبردي منطقه گرايانه از سوي جمهوري اسلامي ايران در منظومه نگاه ژئوپلتيك و جغرافيايي تبديل شده است، چرا كه ايران از جمله كشورهايي مي باشد كه به لحاظ موقعيت جغرافيايي و سياسي، از مزيت ژئواستراتژيك، ژئواكونوميك و ژئوپليتيك بهره مند مي باشد. بر اين اساس راهبرد نگاه به شرق كه از منطق علمي و تاريخي؛ همچنين ريشه هاي جغرافيايي و سياسي در سياست خارجي كشور برخوردار است و هويت سازي جديدي در گفتمان سياست خارجي ايجاد مي كند، از اهميت مضاعفي برخوردار شده است.در اين مقاله دنبال بررسي عوامل ژئوپليتيك ﺗﺄثير گذار بر تغيير نگاه سياست خارجي ايران از غرب به شرق با ﺗﺄكيد بر روسيه مي باشيم.

The collapse of the Soviet unio‎n and the end of the Cold War have increased the geopolitical and regional significance of the international system, so that many countries in their foreign policy have chosen regionalism as the main constituent of their own interests and national security. The practical and theoretical look in Iran's foreign policy over the past years, the lack of attention to the strategy of looking at the East and the unilateral view of the West has led to neglect of other centers and sources of global power and wealth, especially near the borders, but in years The recent strategy of looking at the East has become a regionalist strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the geopolitical and geographic view system, Because Iran is one of the countries that has geostrategic, geo-economical and geopolitical advantages in terms of geographic and political location. Accordingly, the strategy of looking into the East which has scientific and historical logic, as well as the geopolitical and political roots in the foreign policy of the country, has created a new identity in the foreign policy discourse.
