Determination of the Fauna and Sex Ratio of Scorpions from Villages and Suburbs of Kohgilouieh and Boirahmad Province in 1379

villages and suburbs of Kohgilouieh and Boirahmad (K.B.) province in 1379 .The type of study was descriptive -practical and the method of sampling was random-cluster .791 alive scorpions were captured from 30 villages around three cities of K.B. province (10 villages in each city). Eight species from two families (Buthidae and Scorpionidae) were found as the fauna of the province and Mesobuthus eupeus with 43.6% (345 specimens) was the dominant species. 71.5% of all specimens were female and 28.5% were male. A diagnostic collection and a binaural key was provided for these species .Our searching activity for nesting sites was unsuccessful .All species were captrued from areas which were 4000 meters above sea level.lt is important to note that antibody of only two species of this fauna (M.eupeus and Androctonus crssicauda) exist in the antiscorpion serum of Razi Institute. The preparation of Hemiscorpius lepturus antibody is very important since it is believed that this species is the main cause of scorpion sting death in K.B. province and other southern provinces of Iran.
