چكيده فارسي :
در اين مقاله نخست، شيوه تاريخ‌نگاري حال‌محور علم معرفي شده است؛ معيار، نقطة آغاز و نقطه پايان اينگونه تاريخ‌نگاري، نظريه‌هاي «علميِ» كنوني مي‌باشد. از ديدگاه نگارنده، مقابلة ويژگي‌هاي علوم پيشين با علم كنوني مي‌تواند محك مناسبي در آزمون كارآمدي اين شيوه باشد. بدين ترتيب، كيميا به عنوان يك علم طبيعي در سده‌هاي گذشته لحاظ و به واكاوي كيمياي حسن بن زاهد كرماني پرداخته مي شود. آنگاه، برخي موضوعات محوري كيميا را استخراج كرده، آنها را در مواجهه با برخي ويژگي‌هاي بنيادي علم مدرن و نيز مفروضات اساسي تاريخ‌نگاري حال‌محور قرار مي‌دهيم.
نتيجه آنكه، تفاوت‌هاي علم كيميا با علم مدرن چنان بنيادي و شباهت‌هاي آن دو چنان اندك است كه نمي‌توان، بهرغم ادعاي تاريخ‌نگاري حال‌محور، كيميا را يك «پيش‌تاريخ» براي شيمي دانست. در بازسازي تاريخ علم به نحو عام، و تاريخ كيميا به نحو خاص، بايد با ديدگاهي جامع‌نگرانه، چنان عمل كرد كه مباحث گسترده نظري و عملي آن، وجوه مختلف كار با مواد، فرآيندهاي عملي، و نيز زبان معمايي، رمزي و باطني كيميا و البته مسائل انساني و اجتماعي مرتبط با آن، به همراه يكديگر ملاحظه شود.
چكيده لاتين :
In this paper, first, Presentist historiography of science is introduced. The present scientific theories constitute the criteria of the original point and also the final point of this historiography method. In our opinion, the comparative study of the traditional and modern sciences can be used as a suitable criterion to estimate the validity of this method. So, we consider alchemy as a natural science in the past periods, and analyze briefly an alchemical work of Hassan Ibn Zāhid Kermāni. We extract some fundamental principles of alchemy and compare them with some essential bases of modern science, as well as with some presuppositions of presentist historiography. As the result, alchemy shows great and fundamental differences with modern science, and hence, with the bases of mentioned historiography; one can't, therefore, consider alchemy as the "prehistory" of chemistry. We believe that in the procedure of reconstructing history of science, especially the case of alchemy, its theoretical topics, practical aspects and different processes, as well as its hermetic, symbolic and esoteric language, all should be seen from a holistic point of view
