نهج البلاغه و معارف بلند آن ساحتي اخلاقي و تربيتي دارد و تمام گفتار امام علي (ع) در صحنه هاي مختلف بر محوريت اخلاق و تعقل استوار است. امام (ع)، در تمام عرصه هاي زندگي همواره به انجام تكليف و اجراي حق و عدالت، توجه داشتند و هيچگاه براي رسيدن به اهداف متعالي از ابزار و روش هاي غير ديني و غير اخلاقي استفاده نكردند. مكتب وظيفه گراي اخلاقي، از جمله نظريات اخلاق هنجاري است كه به ويژگي هاي خاصي از خود عمل و انجام تكليف، بدون توجه به نتايج آن اهميت مي دهد. با بررسي در متن نهج البلاغه، گزاره هاي متعددي دلالت بر وظيفه گرايي اخلاق در مكتب اخلاقي امام علي ع، دارد. و برخي شاخص ها براي شناخت وظيفه در نهج البلاغه، مطرح شده است كه عبارت از: توجه به قاعده زرين، پاسداشت پايبندي به اصل كيفيت استخدام وسيله، وجود قواعد مطلق اخلاقي(شامل صداقت، وفاي به عهد، امانتداري)، اصل عدالت و اصل حق طلبي ست. دراين مقاله با روش "داده بنياد"، عوامل مذكور در كلام امام (ع) از ديدگاه نهج البلاغه مورد بررسي و تحليل قرار گرفته است.
