The Application of ‘Integrated Urban Design Process’ in the Regeneration of Historic Urban Places; Case Study: Sang-e-Siāh Historic Pathway Public Spaces

طراحي‌شهري از بدو پاي نهادن به عرصه شهرها، توجه به فرآيند را همزمان با تمركز بر محتوا پي گرفته است. زماني، اسطوره روش‌مندي علمي تاكيد مضاعفي بر فرآيند داشت، در حالي كه بنيان طراحي‌شهري، با تكيه بر سرشت و درونمايه شهرها، تكوين يافته بود. همگرايي اين دو جريان، با فرآيند يكپارچه طراحي‌شهري و به اين دليل مورد توجه قرار مي‌گيرد كه از آن طريق بتوان در عين پايبندي به يك روند گام به گام و مبتني بر اصول علمي، مختصات بستر اقدام و زمينه شهري را نيز مدنظر قرار داد. در اين مقاله، مفهوم فرآيند يكپارچه طراحي‌شهري، خود را به مثابه شاكله‌اي مركّب از فرآيند طراحي شهري با هدف بازآفريني و احياء مكان‌هاي تاريخي يا سازمان فضايي بخشي از بافت تاريخي شيراز، باز مي‌نماياند. در بازخواني و تدوين فرآيند، مهم ترين بخش از چرخه را ارزيابي وضعيت و جلب مشاوره برشمرده، و به همين طريق، احصاء و وارد كردن كيفيت‌هاي فراگير به زمينه بافت تاريخي، ماموريت طراحي شهري معطوف به بازآفريني شهري است كه در آن، حفاظت يا مديريت تغيير، با توسعه يا طراحي منبعث از زمينه همگام مي شود. به اين ترتيب، فرآيند يكپارچه طراحي‌شهري در بازطراحي تداوم مكاني گذرسنگ سياه شيراز با هدف بازآفريني مكان‌مبناي بافت تاريخي، به آزمون نهاده شده‌است. نتايج نشان مي دهد كه فرآيند يكپارچه طراحي شهري، چگونه مي‌تواند در قالب سياست بازآفريني فعال، به دو جريان حفاظت و توسعه، توازن ببخشد.

The integrated urban design process could be considered as a crucial interaction between “substance” and “procedure” in all the creative designs revealed during the history of urban design in which the substantive approach has gradually been shifted into a more procedural one. This new situation had been widely adapted by the ever-growing revitalizing approach, searching a new life for many of old and deteriorated urban fabrics and places. The integrated approach could lead the urban design through a revitalizing process which might be also interpreted as the regeneration of the spatial structure of a city. In this research the convergence of urban design and urban regeneration has been incarnated in the integrated urban design process for regenerating historic places. In this article after reviewing the related literature a list of integrated qualities of urban design has been proposed to be used as an imperative goal for the urban regeneration and conservation of historic and heritage areas. To achieve such a task the method was to organize an integrated urban design process in order to apply all the qualities listed before in the redesign and the regeneration of historical urban spaces of a chosen part of the old city of Shiraz situated in the Sang-e-Siah historic quarter.
