در عصر پيشامشروطه لقب سازي براي نخبگان حاكم يكي از جلوه هاي منازعۀ سياسي بين فرودستان و ارباب قدرت در عصر پيشامشروطه به شمار مي رود. توده ها كه تلاش مي كردند روايت رسمي حكومت را درباره وضعيت كشور،در حوزه هاي مختلف نفي كرده يا زير سوال ببرند در واكنش به القاب اغراق آميزي كه حكومت قاجاريه براي اجزا و عناصر خود در نظر مي گرفت، لقب هاي تحقيرآميزي را منتشر مي كردند كه ظرافت، طنزآميزي و بداعتشان مخاطب را به انتقال سريع آن به ديگران تشويق مي كرد. اين القاب، بخشي از روايت فرودستان از وضعيت كشور و زمامداران بود كه در واكنش به روايت رسمي حكومت شكل مي گرفت. عامه با ساختن اين القاب، ادعاي آباداني كشور و اقتدار حكومت را نفي مي كردند؛ اما تاكيد بيشتري بر رد برتري ذاتي و سيادت نخبگان حاكم بر فرودستان داشتند و با ساختن القاب سيادت ستيز، سلطۀ منزلتي فرادستان را به چالش مي كشيدند. چهارچوب مفهومي پژوهش، نظريۀ روايت هاي نهاني جيمز سي. اسكات است كه در نظريه خود به صورت بندي كنش سياسي توده ها در دوره هايي كه به دور از شورش و اعتراض خشونت بار ، قدرت را به صورتي تلويحي نفد مي كنند، پرداخته است. پيش از اين پژوهشي تحليلي در اين ارتباط انجام نشده است.

These nicknames published against high-flown titles that governors were making for themselves. Nicknames that were publishing by the people were very humorous and innovative. These properties published them very fast in the country. These nicknames were a seat of the transcript of the masses about situation of the country against the government transcript. In these nicknames , the masses rejected the claims of the governors about their authority and development of the country, but they emphasized to reject inherent superiority of the governors. The theorical framework of of this reaserch is “ The Hidden Transcripts” of James C. Scott.
