Extreme Value Theory and its Applications

The theory of extreme-value(E-V) and uses of it in this article are introduced and the models for largest (smallest) asymptotic distributions are given. The methods that available for estimation of these distribution parameters are given. Because of important and accuracy of the method of probability weighted moments in estimating the parameters ofE-V distribution, this method has introduced and has used to estimate the smallest E-V distribution parameters.
