Evaluation of parts reliability, before manufacturing with minimum possible cost and time is very important in industry. These characteristics cannot be achieved only by laboratory and experimental methods and it is necessary to apply finite element method (FEM) for itʹs evaluation. FEM analysis is an accurate and a relatively rapid procedure to pridict of many properties and performances of some industrial parts. In this paper this method is applied to analyse fatigue and stress of a typical Generator.
In this paper fatigue design is investegated in a small generator shaft according to rotor and shaft weight, centrifugal forces and forces induced by diesel and stator and it is shown that the results are completely compatible with available standards and procedures.
