Designing 20KV Composite Hollow Insulators In Niroo Research Institute

In this research, "Composite Hollow Insulator" type 33 & 20 KV were designed according to the existing standards and an investigation was then carried out on selection of manufacturing methods. Based on the selected method, insulator components were manufactured individually and latter they were assembled together by a special process already used in manufacturing of the 63 KV composite insulators previously published by the Authors. In order to be assured of the quality of manufactured insulators, it is necessary to perform series of standard tests, on composite hollow insulator . According to our previous experiences and studies, it is expected that composite hollow insulator possess higher electrical and mechanical properties as well as a longer lifetime.
