يكي از مفاهيم كليدي كه در متافيزيك توماس نقش اساسي دارد، مفهوم بهره­ مندي است، كه بر اساس آن، بين خالق و مخلوق ارتباط برقرار مي­ كند. بهره­ مندي پيشينه ­اي در فلسفه افلاطون و بوئثيوس دارد و در عبارات توماس عبارت است از چيزي كه به نحوي جزئي، آنچه را كه به ديگري به نحو كامل تعلق دارد، دريافت مي­كند. از آنجا كه متافيزيك وي براساس توجه خاص به «وجود» بنا شده است و وجود نيز هم به خالق و هم به مخلوق نسبت داده مي­ شود و موجودات از وجود برخوردار هستند، بنابراين بايد نوع ارتباط بين خالق و مخلوق مورد مطالعه قرار گيرد و معلوم گردد هركدام به چه نحو در وجود سهيم ­اند. همچنين در رابطه بين وجود و ماهيت، بهره­ مندي چه نقشي دارد. اين مقاله در نظر دارد با مطالعه آثار توماس آكوئيناس و شارحين و محقيقن به شيوه تحليلي و پژوهشي مسأله بهره­ مندي را بررسي نمايد تا منظور از بهره­ مندي، انواع بهره­ مندي و موارد استعمال مفهوم بهره­ مندي در فلسفه توماس مشخص گردد. وي سه نوع بهره ­مندي را تشخيص مي­دهد كه تنها يكي از آنها قابل استناد به خدا و موجودات است. وي با نظريه بهره­ مندي رابطه خالق و مخلوق، رابطه ماهيت و وجود، رابطه كثير با واحد را توجيه مي ­كند.

The concept of participation is, one of the key concepts that plays a central role in Thomas's metaphysics, based on which it communicates between creator and creature. It has a Record in the philosophy of Plato and Boethius, an‎d in Thomas's terms, when anything receives in a particular manner that which belongs to another in a total manner. It is said to participate it. Since his metaphysics is based on special attention to "existence", and existence is also attributed to both the Creator and the Creator, and the creatures have existence, therefore, the type of relationship between the creator and the creature should be studied and it appears that each one shares the same in existence. Also, what role does it play in the relationship between existence and Essence? This paper intends, in the analytical and research methodology, to study the problem of participation in Thomas Aquinas philosophy by studying the his works and the scholars to determine that what is the purpose of participation, types of participation and the uses of the concept of participation in Thomas's philosophy. He recognizes three types of participation, of which only one can be attributed to God and beings. He justifies the relation between of creator and creature, the relation of Essence and existence and multiplicative relation with the unit by the participation theory.
