عطار نيشابوري، شاعر و عارف بزرگ قرن ششم و هفتم، معاني و مضامين بلند عرفاني را به بهترين وجه در قالب نماد و تمثيل ارائه مي دهد. او در چهار اثر معروف خود (منطق الطير، مصيبت نامه، الهي نامه و اسرار نامه) رمز و نماد را پايه و اصل داستانهايش قرار داده است. بازيگران صحنه هاي او نماد و تمثيلي هستند كه هدف والاي اين شاعر را به بهترين وجه آراسته اند. تمثيل هاي به كار رفته در آثار عطار، گزارشگر احساسات و تجربه هاي اوست. و براي وصول به اهداف واقعي خود براي وصول به اهداف واقعي خود با بيان تمثيلي و غير مستقيم از تلخي و گزندگي پند مي كاهد. در اين نوشتار نويسندگان جهت ضرورت تحقيق با محور قراردادن چهار اثر عطار به تشريح توصيفي مبني بر تجزيه و تحليل نمادها و تمثيل هاي به كار رفته در شعر اين شاعر پرداخته است.
