تحقيقي دربارۀ مرغ افسانه‌اي، ققنوس

An investigation of the legendary fowl, Qoqnus

ققنوس از مرغان افسانه ­اي متون ايراني (فارسي و عربي) است كه اصل داستان آن خاستگاه غير ايراني دارد. كهن­ ترين توصيف اين پرنده بدون آوردن نامش در البلدان، گرشاسپ­ نامه و تحفه­ الغرائب است و المعتبر في الحكمه بغدادي به زبان عربي نخستين اثري است كه آن را با ذكر نام معرّفي كرده. ققنوس در ادبيّات كهن فارسي بسيار كم (حدود بيست بار) و در ادب معاصر فراوان مورد توجّه شعرا و نويسندگان قرار گرفته است. در اين مقاله پس از نگاهي به مهم­ترين مآخذِ فارسي و عربيِ مربوط به ذكر نام و يا معرّفيِ اين پرنده، همۀ ويژگي­ هاي آن از اين متون استخراج و طبقه­ بندي شده است. سپس تمام شواهدِ كاربرد آن در شعرِ گذشتۀ فارسي و بعضي نمونه­ هاي مهمّ آن در شعر معاصر آورده و بررسي شده است. در پايان نيز به مرغانِ مشابهِ ققنوس در برخي منابع و همانندي­ هايِ اين مرغ با فونيكسِ روايات غربي پرداخته شده.

Qoqnus is a legendary fowl of Iranian texts (Persian and Arabic) whose origin of its story is not Iranian.The oldest description of this bird is in Garshaspname and Tohfat al gharraibwithout mentioning its name and the book of al-Ma'tabar fi al-Hikma Baghdadi is the first work it has introduced in Arabic.Qoqnus has been usedvery little (about twenty times) in ancient Persian literature and it has been considered in contemporary literary by poets and writers.In this article, after looking at the most important Persian and Arabic references related to naming or introducing this bird, all its features are extracted from these texts and classified.Then all the evidence of its application in the past poetry of Persia and some of its important examples in contemporary poetry has been broughtand reviewed. Also in the end, fowls like the Qoqnus in some sources and similarities of this fowl with Phoenix of western narratives have been addressed.
