اين مقاله به روش تطبيقي به بررسي ويژگي ­هاي اجتماعي، كنش ­هاي معنادار فاعلان جمعي، درون مايه­ هاي اجتماعي تكرارشونده، شناخت جايگاه طبقاتي نويسنده و بازتاب آن بر پيرنگ و شخصيت­هاي رمان، ارتباط و تناظر ميان ساختار ادبي و ساختار اجتماعي ­در رمان هاي دانشور پرداخته است. دانشور دو نوع زندگي را از دو طبقه­ ي مختلف تجربه­ كرده ­است، اما همواره با تحصيل‌كردگان، روشنفكران و بزرگان علم و ادب هم­نشين بوده است، اين تجربه­هاي طبقاتي در آثار و شخصيت­ هاي داستان­هاي او تأثير گذاشته­ اند. زنان آثار او، از هر دو طبقه­ ي اجتماع، «اشراف و محروم» هستند. او شخصيت­هاي داستان‌هايش را بيشتر از آدم هاي دور و بر خودش انتخاب كرده است. او در رمان‌هاي متأخر، شخصيت ­هاي زن را از ميان دانشجويان و دانشگاهيان برگزيده ­است. سووشون سكوي پرتاب نويسنده براي حركت در مدار واقع­ گرايي است. دانشورخط عزيمت انديشه­ ي زري را از فردگرايي تا جامعه گرايي و از انقياد تا عصيان ضد روزگار خود و از زني احساساتي و منفعل تا مرز زني منطقي و فعال و از عاميانه انديشي تا پهنه­ ي انديشه­ هاي فلسفي و اجتماعي پيگيري كرده است. در نتيجه عوامل مهمّي چون تحولات اجتماعي و انقلاب بيروني و دروني و ارتباط وتناظر ساختار ادبي و ساختار اجتماعي آفرينش و تحول شخصيت­هاي داستان تأثيري به سزا دارد.
