Response to Some Biosafety Concerns of Transgenic Plants

مهندسي ژنتيك گياهي سريعترين فناوري پذيرفته‌شده در تاريخ بشر براي دستيابي به برتري‌هاي كيفي و كمي توسط كشاورزان بوده است. اين فناوري مزاياي واقعي براي محيط‌زيست و معيشت زارعين در‌برداشته و دارد. متاسفانه علي‌رغم مطالعات علمي معتبر و متعدد در مورد ايمن‌ بودن محصولات تراريخته براي مصرف‌كننده و محيط‌زيست، هنوز اين فناوري با ادعاهاي گمراه‌كننده اي از سوي برخي افراد مواجه مي‌شود. نتايج يك پژوهش جامع بر روي مقالات منتشر شده در مجلات معتبر علمي نشان مي‌دهد كه كشت‌و‌كار گياهان تراريخته باعث كاهش مصرف آفت‌كش‌ها به ميزان 37 درصد، افزايش عملكرد گياه به ميزان 22 درصد و افزايش درآمد كشاورزان تا 68 درصد شده است. با توجه به جديد بودن هدف توسعه و كشت گياهان تراريخته در كشور لازم است به برخي پرسش‌هايي كه از جانب مسئولان، كشاورزان، مصرف‌كنندگان، رسانه‌ها و ساير افراد در مورد جنبه‌هاي مختلف ايمني محصولات تراريخته در سطح جامعه مطرح مي‌شود پاسخ هايي مختصر و ساده ارائه شود. از اين‌رو در اين مقاله به 20 پرسش مهم در مورد محصولات تراريخته پاسخ داده مي‌شود.

Plant genetic engineering has been the fastest technology adopted in human history to achieve quantitative and qualitative superiority by farmers. This technology has real benefits to the environment and the livelihood of farmers. Unfortunately, despite numerous credible scientific studies on the safety of GM products for the consumer and the environment, this technology still faces misleading claims by some. The results of a comprehensive study of articles published in the authoritative scientific journals show that the transgenic plant cultivation reduced pesticide use by 37%, increased yield by 22% and increased farmers' income by 68%. Given the new purpose of development and cultivation of transgenic plants in the country, it is necessary to answer some questions raised by officials, farmers, consumers, media and others on various aspects of transgenic crop safety at the community level.
