Speech Disorders in Primary School Students of Isfahan (1998-9)

Introduction. The aim of this study was to describe frequency of speech disorders in primary school students. Methods. In a cross-sectional study 300 first and second grade primary school students were examined for specch disorders. Results. From 300 subjects, 280 were normal (without speech disorders), 15 had articulation disorders, 2 had voice disorders, 3 had resonance disorders and no one had fluency disorders. Discussion. The findings of this study are supported by fomer study in other countries, except frequency of fluency disorders which may due to low sample size of present study.
