رئيس جمهور در هركشوري بنابر ضرورت و اهميت پست رياست جمهوري داراي جايگاه رفيع و مسؤوليت مي باشد تا با بهره گيري از آن ها ضمن اجراي صحيح وظايف خود، در راستاي توسعه و بالندگي كشور متبوعش گام بردارد. اين مسؤوليت ها به واقع نشأت گرفته از وظايف و اختيارات رئيس جمهور مي باشند و رئيس جمهور را در مقام پاسخگويي به نحوه عملكردش در حيطه قانون اساسي قرار مي دهد. با توجه به جايگاه پست رياست جمهوري كه در اكثر كشورها داراي اهميت فوق العاده اي است، قرار دادن ضوابطي نظارتي در نحوه عملكرد رئيس جمهور امري معقول به شمار مي آيد. لذا رئيس جمهور همواره بايد به اين نكته توجه كند كه در قبال اعمال خود مسؤول مي باشد. رئيس جمهور در كشور جمهوري اسلامي ايران با توجه به قرار گرفتن در اين موقعيت خطير و به منظور حصول اطمينان به انجام رسالت، داراي اوصافي مي باشد كه اين مقاله توصيفي – تحليلي تلاش دارد اين مهم را واكاوي نمايد.
