چسب هاي جراحي از جمله بيومتريال هاي جديد هستند و هنوز جاي پيشرفت زيادي دارند. يك چسب بافتي خوب بايد علاوه بر عملكرد عالي، خواص باليني قابل قبولي نيز داشته باشد. چسب هاي پزشكي به چسب هاي بافت نرم، سخت، سامانه هاي رهايش دارو و چسب هاي زيستي تقسيم مي شوند. خواص ويسكوالاستيك, قابليت خيس كنندگي چسب و غلظت آن را روي پوست مشخص مي كند. چسب هاي بافت نرم به دو گروه چسب هاي پوست و چسب هاي اندام هاي داخلي تقسيم مي شوند. چسب هاي اندام هاي داخلي شامل سيانوآكريلات ها و فيبرين هستند. چسب هاي فيبرين از مرحله آخر مكانيزم انعقاد خون تقليد كرده و شامل دو جزء اصلي فيبرينوژن و ترومبين هستند. از خصوصيات بارز چسب هاي سيانوآكريلات مي توان به عدم نياز به كاتاليزور، سرعت پليمريزاسيون بالا و ايجاد اتصال قوي اشاره نمود. چسب هاي سيانوآكريلات قابليت عمل به عنوان سد ميكروبي را نيز دارند. يك چسب سيانو آكريلات پزشكي ايده آل بايد داراي زنجيره بلند، تافنس مناسب و زيست سازگاري بالا باشد. از برندهاي تجاري / پزشكي اين چسب ها مي توان به Dermabond و Indermil اشاره نمود. اين مقاله به معرفي، مكانيزم عمل و آخرين پيشرفت ها در زمينه چسب هاي جراحي بافت هاي داخلي مي پردازد.

Surgical adhesives including new biomaterials still have lot of progress. A good tissue adhesive should have in addition to excellent performance, acceptable clinical properties. Medical adhesives are classified in to soft tissues adhesives, hard tissues adhesives, drug delivery adhesives and bio adhesives. Viscoelastic properties determine the ability to wetting the adhesive and its concentration on the skin. Soft tissue adhesives are divided in to groups of skin and internal organ adhesives. The internal organ adhesives include cyanoacrylates and fibrin. Fibrin and cyanoacrylates adhesives are the most common adhesives of the internal organs. The fibrin adhesives imitate the final stage of the blood coagulation mechanism and include two main components of fibrinogen and thrombin. Significant properties of cyanoacrylates adhesives include the need for a catalyst, high polymerization rate and strong bonding creation. Cyanoacrylates adhesives also have the microbal barrier capability. An ideal medical cyanoacrylate adhesive should have a long chain, suitable toughness and biocompatibility. The commercial/medical cyanoacrylates adhesives are DERMOBOND and INDERMIL.
