A Survey on Protective Agricultural Policies Using Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM): Case Study of Kiwifruit Production in Northern Iran

This paper studies the effects of Iranʹs agricultural policies on Kiwifruit production using PAM. The results show that, as a whole, the effects of Iranian governmentʹs intervention on kiwifruit production process have been in the interest of the producers in domestic market. But its profitability has decreased in international markets. In this regard, the study of its main export markets it. Europe, Persian Gulf region and Central Asia suggests the decrease of comparative advantage and net social profit of this product. Therefore, Iranian governmentʹs policies, as a whole, have not been in line with export promotion of kiwifruit especially in product markets.
