Isolation, quarantine, social distancing and community containment: pivotal role for old-style public health measures in the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak

كروناويروس جديد به عنوان يك همه گيري پاندميك كل دنيا را تهديد مي­كند. اين ويروس از خانواده كروناويروس، ويژگي­هاي جديد و ناشناخته­اي داشته و هيچ نوع واكسن و درمان قطعي براي آن شناخته نشده است. با توجه به تجربه موفقيت آميز اقدامات بهداشت عمومي در كنترل و مهار SARS، اين اقدامات به طور وسيعي به منظور كنترل كروناويروس جديد توسط كشورهاي درگير اعمال شده است. بزرگترين نگراني درباره اين اقدامات رفتار اپيدميولوژيكي شبه آنفلوانزاي اين ويروس مي‍باشد كه باعث به چالش كشيده شدن اين اقدامات مي­شود.

New coronavirus as a pandemic threatens whole world. This virus as a member of coronavirus family has new and unknown characteristics and no vaccine or treatment agent has been developed for this infectious disease. Regarding the successful experience of public health measures in SARS outbreak controlling and haltering, the infected countries have applied these proceedings widely to control new coronavirus infection. The greatest concern could be that this novel virus behaves epidemiologically like influenza viruses, will challenge all old-fashioned public health actions.
