مديريت صحنه ي جرم بخشــي از فرايندي اســت كه از صحنه ي جرم شــروع شده و در دادگاه به نتيجه مي رسد. مديريت صحنه ي جرم به معني بررسي نظام مند يك رويداد يا اتهام براي مشخص شــدن يك حقيقت است. كارآگاهان زماني كه تحقيق را شروع مي كنند، نياز به يك سري اطلاعــات موثــق دارند كه از طريق آن به حقيقت دســت يابند؛ بنابراين تحقيق بايد مراحلي را طــي كنــد تا به هدفش؛ يعني حقيقت برسد. اين مراحل، چيزي جز مدارك نيســتند. مدارك معمولا پرونده را مي ســازند و يا باعث حل آن مي شــوند، اما براي همه ي مدارك فيزيكي، ســه مرحله ي بســيار ضروري وجود دارد كه بايد در صحنه ي جرم به آن ها توجه كرد. اين سه مرحله عبارتند از: شناسايي مدرك، روش هاي جمع آوري و نگهداري مناسب آن ها و نحوه ي بهره برداري از آثار جمع آوري شده. به طور كلي مي توان گفت، شــواهد فيزيكي هيچ وقت فراموش نمي شــوند و تحت تأثيرهيجانات قرار نمي گيرند. اگر كســي شــاهد ماجرا نيست، سبب نمي شود كه شــواهد فيزيكي راز حوادث را بازگو نكنند. شواهد فيزيكي واقعيت دارند. آن ها نمي توانند غلط باشند يا حقيقت را كتمان كنند. بر همين اساس علوم جنايي تا حدودي از اصول خاصي پيروي مي‌كند؛ هر تماسي ردي به جا مي گذارد و هر شيء در جهان ما منحصربه فرد است. در اين مقاله سعي شده است تا نقش و جايگاه مديريت حفظ صحنه ي جرم و تأثير آن در كشف علمي جرايم و همچنين نقش شواهد و مدارك جمع آوري شده و اهميت آن را در فرايند رسيدگي پرونده و در نهايت كشف جرم مورد بحث و بررسي قرار دهد.

Crime scene management is a part of the process starting from the crime scene and ending in the court and it means systematic investigation of an event or an allegation to reveal a truth. To start an investigation, detectives need reliable information through which they can reach to the truth. Therefore, every investigation must go through some given stages to reach its purpose i.e. the truth. These stages are not but the proofs. Proofs usually build a case or lead to crack a case. There are there necessary phases to every physical proof which must be attended to on the crime scene. These phases are: proof detection, appropriate method of gathering and keeping them and the exploitation methods of the gathered proofs. Generally it can be said that physical proofs may never be forgotten or be under the effect of excitement. Absence of any witness cannot cause the physical proofs not to show the truth. They cannot be wrong or hide the truth. Accordingly, criminal science follows some given principles. Every contact leaves a trail and every object is special in itself. In the present survey, it has been tried to investigate the role and status of crime scene management and its influence on scientific detection of the crime and also the role of the gathered proofs and documents and their importance in the process of crime investigation and eventually revealing the truth.
