كاركرد اجرايي به مجموعه اي از فعاليت هاي ذهني كه در لوب فرونتال هماهنگ مي شود، اشاره دارد كه در اين تحقيق شامل حافظه فعال، توجه، انعطاف پذيري و استدلال مي شود. تحقيق حاضر با هدف بررسي مقايسه كاركردهاي اجرايي مغز در رانندگان پرخطر و ايمن شهرستان اسلا م آباد غرب انجام يافته است. پژوهش حاضر از نوع تحقيقات توصيفي بوده و با توجه به ماهيت موضوع از نوع علي- مقايسه اي تلقي مي گردد. به موجب جمع آوري داد ههاي موردنياز در تحقيق براي مؤلفه توجه از آزمون رنگ كلمه استروپ، براي مؤلفه استدلال از آزمون برج هانوي، مؤلفه ي حافظه فعال از آزمون فراخناي ارقام و در نهايت براي انعطا ف پذيري شناختي از آزمون ويسكانسين استفاده شد. با توجه به مشخص نبودن حجم دقيق جامعه رانندگان و با در نظر گرفتن ماهيت پژوهش پس رويداري و روش پژوهش از ميان رانندگان مراجعه كننده به دفاتر نمايندگي بيمه ها به شيوه ي نمونه گيري در دسترس تعداد 100 نفر از رانندگاني كه از بيمه شخص ثالث خود استفاده نمود ه بودند و 100 نفر از رانندگاني كه مرتكب تصادف نشده بودند و تخفيف هاي بيمه نامه شامل آن ها شده بود به عنوان نمونه پژوهش انتخاب شدند. به منظور تجزيه و تحليل داده ها از آمار توصيفي (ميانگين، انحراف معيار) و آمار استنباطي ANOVA استفاده شده است. نتايج تحقيق نشان داد كه ميزان كاركردهاي اجرايي در متغيرهاي استدلال، حافظه فعال، توجه و انعطا فپذيري در رانندگان ايمن و پرخطر متفاوت است، يعني كاركردهاي اجرايي مغز در رانندگان ايمن وضعيت مطلوب تري داشته است.
