Critical Analysis of the Book “Verb Valency and Basic Constructions of Sentences in Modern Persian; a Survey based on Dependency Grammar Theory”

مقاله حاضر محصول نگاهي به كتابِ ظرفيت فعل و ساختهاي بنيادين جمله در فارسي امروز؛ پژوهشي بر اساس نظرية دستور وابستگي است كه اميد طبيب زاده آن را مشتمل بر هشت فصل نگاشته است. با توجه به آنكه چنين رويكردي به دستور زبان در ايران درصد كمتري از مطالعات و بحث هاي زبانشناختي را به خود اختصاص داده است، جاي خاليِ كتابي كه نگرش اخير را به زبان پژوهانِ علاقه مند معرفي كند؛ آن هم به زبان فارسي، به شدت محسوس بوده است. به همين دليل، كوشش نگارندة اين اثر ستودني و شايستة سپاسگزاري است. به جرأت ميتوان گفت يكي از امور حساسي كه بر عهدة نگارندة اين اثر بوده است، معرفيِ واژه ها و اصطلاحات اين حوزة تخصصي و نيز توضيح و تبيين آنها بوده است؛ زيرا در زمينة كاربرد اصطلاحات دستوري، به ويژه در دستورهاي سنتي و حتي در آثاري كه دربارة ساخت زبان فارسي نگاشته شده اند، گاه شاهد تشتت اصطلاحات تخصصي و تعاريف نادقيق و وجود مثال هاي نقض براي آن تعاريف هستيم. كتاب مذكور ويژگي هاي مثبت بسياري دارد و البته پيشنهادهايي نيز به ذهن مرورگرِ اين كتاب رسيده است كه در صورت صلاحديد و پسندِ نگارنده شايد بتواند گره هاي كوچكي را از ذهن مخاطب كتاب بگشايد.

Present article is the result of a critical look at the book “Verb Valency and Basic Constructions of Sentences in Modern Persian; a Survey based on Dependency Grammar Theory” which is written by Dr. Omid Tabibzadeh in eight chapters. Due to the fact that Dependency approach to grammar in Iran has gained less attention than other grammatical approaches, lack of the presence of such a book in Persian, introducing this grammatical approach to language researchers interested in this approach, was strongly felt. For this reason, author’s’ attempt is admirable. One of the challenges the author has faced, has been equivalent choices for technical terms in the named approach and the absence of books in this field in Persian has resulted in the present situation which is lack of Persian sources in Dependency Grammar. Because of the mentioned lack, sometimes we face variety of technical terms, ambiguous definitions and counter examples in traditional grammars. Therefore, this article is the introduction of the book; its chapters, its strong points and also its weak points.
