كتاب هاي درسي جديد زبان انگليسي در مقطع متوسطه اول: آيا نيازهاي دانش آموزان ديده شده است؟

New EFL textbooks at the Junior High school Level: Have the needs of students been taken into account?

در سال‌هاي اخير، با پيشرفت و گسترش استفاده از روش‌هاي متنوع براي آموزش زبان انگليسي، ارزيابي كتب آموزشي به‌طورقابل‌ملاحظه‌اي مورد توجه قرارگرفته است. بااين‌حال، تعداد بسيار كمي از مطالعات در كشور با تمركز بر ارزيابي كتب آموزش زبان انگليسي در مقطع متوسطه اول در ايران(Prospect) صورت گرفته است. پژوهش حاضر باهدف ارزيابي كتاب‌هاي آموزش زبان انگليسي در مقطع متوسطه اول از ديدگاه دانش‌آموزان و دبيران انجام‌شده است. به‌منظور تحقق اين هدف، 8 نفر از معلمان دوره متوسطه اول با ميانگين سابقه 7 سال تدريس در اين مقطع و همچنين 261 نفر از دانش‌آموزان در پايه‌هاي هفتم، هشتم و نهم به‌عنوان گروه شركت‌كنندگان در اين مطالعه همكاري كردند. كتاب‌هاي درسي براساس پرسشنامه‌اي كه در سال 1979 طراحي و اعتبار سنجي شده و شامل 25 سؤال در شش زمينه مشتمل بر:مناسب بودن موضوعات، بررسي واژگان و ساختارها، مناسب بودن تمرين‌ها، مناسب بودن تصاوير، و آرايش فيزيكي كتاباست، مورد تحليل قرار گرفت. با مطرح كردن سوالاتي با محتواي مشابه در مرحله مصاحبه با دبيران و دانش‌آموزان نتايج به‌دست‌آمده با نتايج پرسشنامه‌ها مقايسه شدند. درنهايت نتايج اين مطالعه نشان داد كه از منظر دانش‌آموزان و دبيران مجموعه كتاب‌هايProspect در بسياري از زمينه‌ها نيازهاي دانش‌آموزان را برآورده نمي‌كند و كارايي لازم را ندارد. نتايج به‌دست‌آمده در اين پژوهش مي‌تواندتوسط معلمان، مسئولان برنامه‌ريزي آموزشي، تأليف كنندگان و نويسندگان كتب درسي مورداستفاده قرار گيرد.

In recent years, the development of the use of a variety of methods for teaching English has greatly improved the value of educational books. However, very few studies have focused on the evaluation of English-language textbooks in primary education in Iran. The purpose of this study was to evaluate English language teaching textbooks in junior high school from the perspective of students and teachers. To achieve this goal, 8 junior high school teachers with an average of 7 years of teaching and 261 students of the seventh, eighth and ninth grades participated as participants in this study. The textbooks were evaluated based on a questionnaire designed and validated in 1979, comprising 25 questions in six contexts: The suitability of topics, the vocabulary and structure of the book, the appropriateness of the exercises, the suitability of the images, and the physical make-up of the book. The results of the interviews were compared with the results of the questionnaires. Finally, the results of this study showed that from the perspective of students the Prospect Book series in many respects does not meet the needs of students and is not efficient. The results of this study can be used by teachers, educational planners, and textbook writers.
