ابعاد روش شناختي انديشۀ جوسايا رويس از منظر رويكردهاي الهياتي معاصر

Methodological Dimensions of Josiah Royce's thought from the Perspective of Contemporary Theological Approaches

در اين مجال نگرش ديني جوسايا رويس[1] (1855-1916) بر اساس برخي جريانات عمدۀ الهياتي معاصر مثل فلسفۀ دين تحليلي، الهيات تحليلي، الهيات سيتسماتيك و الهيات پسامدرن بررسي و تحليل مي‌شود. به نظر مي­رسد كه پراگماتيسمِ ماخوذِ از فلسفۀ كانت، سرچشمۀ تاريخي مشترك بين انديشۀ رويس با فلاسفۀ دين و الهيات معاصر است. او از عقايد مسيحي به‌عنوانِ مقدمه­ اي براي استدلال­ هاي خود بهره مي‌برد و از اين‌جهت، رويكرد او با الهيدان­هاي تحليلي قابلِ‌مقايسه است. با توجه به منظومه‌اي از باورهاي الهياتي كه با الهام از ايدئاليسم شخص­ گرايانه شكل گرفته است، انديشۀ او نوعي الهيات سيستماتيك محسوب مي‌شود. از سوي ديگر، او همگام با فلاسفۀ پسامدرن سوژه را برساخته عوامل اجتماعي و فرهنگي مي‌داند و همچنين، در پاسخ به نيازهاي زمانه تفسيري نوين از الهيات مسيحي ارائه مي‌دهد. با وجود تمام اين جنبه‌هاي مشترك، انديشۀ رويس به‌خاطرِ استفاده از شهود متافيزيكي - به‌عنوانِ يك منبع معرفتي مؤثق و واقع ­نما - از سنت تحليلي و پسامدرنيسم متمايز مي‌شود.

In this article, the religious attitude of Josiah Royce (1855-1916) is examined and analyzed based on some major contemporary theological currents such as the philosophy of analytic religion, analytic theology, systematic theology and postmodern theology. It seems that the Pragmatism, derived from Kant's philosophy, is the common historical source between Royce's thought and that of contemporary philosophers of religion. He uses Christian beliefs as a prelude to his arguments, and for this reason his approach is comparable to analytical theologians. According to a system of theological beliefs inspired by personal idealism, his thought is considered as a kind of systematic theology. On the other hand Royce maintained that the subject or Self is constructed by social and cultural factors and this approach is in the direction of postmodern philosophers, and also offers a new interpretation of Christian theology in response to the needs of the time. Despite all these Similarities, Royce’s thought in due to metaphysical intuition - as a reliable source of knowledge and reality - differs from the analytical tradition and postmodernism.
