كوه هزار با گياهان متنوع در ناحيه جنوبي ايران (استان كرمان)

ايران كشوري كوهستاني با رشته كوه‌هاي متعدد و مرتفع است. رشته كوه‌هاي زاگرس متشكل از كوه‌هاي بزرگ و كوچك نسبتاً متصل به هم بوده كه بيشتر در نوار غربي كشور امتداد داشته و تا نواحي مركزي و جنوب شرق نيز ادامه مي‌يابد، هر چند اين پيوستگي در برخي نواحي جنوبي قطع مي‌شود. كوه هزار از‌جمله اين كوه‌ها بوده كه در جنوب استان كرمان و در مجاورت شهر راين واقع شده است. اين كوه، چهارمين قله بلند ايران و به‌صورت منفك (isolate) بوده و اطراف آن را كوير احاطه نموده است. به لحاظ شرايط منفك، اين منطقه داراي پوشش گياهي منحصر‌به‌فرد و غني از گونه‌هاي متعدد انحصاري است. پوشش گياهي غني و مسير كوهنوردي جالب آن هر‌ساله گردشگردان، كوهنوردان و محققان زيادي را به سمت خود جلب مي‌كند. اگرچه اين منطقه جزو مناطق حفاظت‌شده نيست ولي بعضي از قسمت‌ها به‌ويژه دامنه‌‌هاي شرقي آن (آبشار راين) تا حدودي از آسيب‌هاي محيط‌زيستي محفوظ مانده است. پوشش گياهي غني همراه با گونه‌هاي انحصاري و دارويي متعدد ضرورت برنامه‌ريزي حفاظتي را براي آينده آشكار مي‌سازد.

Iran is a mountainous country with several high mountains. Zagros mountain chain consists of continuous large and small mountains, extends in the western belt of Iran, and reaches up to central and southeast areas. In southern parts, however, it is interrupted in some areas. Among those mountains, Hezar is located in south Kerman province, in Rayen city's vicinity. This mountain has the fourth highest peak in Iran. It is an isolated mountain, surrounded by deserts thoroughly. These conditions host rich vegetation with numerous endemic species. The rich vegetation plus beautiful mountaineering routes has attracted many visitors, mountaineers, and researchers every year. Although this area is not a protected area, some areas, especially the eastern slopes (Rayen waterfall), are somewhat protected from environmental damages. The unique and rich vegetation with numerous endemic and medicinal plants reveals essential conservation programs of this area.
