شاعر تمامي محركات را در شعر خود با استفاده از وزن، گزينش واژه‌ها، استعارات، لحن بيان، آرايه‌هاي صوتي و ... عرضه مي‌كند؛ بنابراين با تقطيع هر شعر و تقابل عناصر اصلي شعر با كاركردهاي تصوير مي‌توان به ريشه‌يابي و شناخت بهتر رابطه‌ي متن و تصوير دست‌يافت. نحوه‌ي فكر كردن كه حاصل تأثير فرآيندهاي مغزي است مي‌تواند انواع قواعد نحوي را توليد نمايد؛ بنابراين انواع عوامل شامل انگيزه، ترس، تأكيد و ... باعث جابه‌جايي جايگاه كلمات و توليد انواع آرايه‌ي بياني و كلامي مي‌شود كه اين نيز به‌نوبه‌ي خود منطق‌هاي تصويري مختلفي را به وجود مي‌آورد. شعر «در شب سرد زمستاني» نيمايوشيج از تصوير سينمايي بهره مي‌گيرد، چراكه ضمن حركت از نقطه‌ي آغاز به همان نقطه بازمي‌گردد و داراي غناي تصويري به جهت بهره‌گيري از معناي ثانويه‌ي كلمات است. اين شعر با تصويري مستقل و همچنين محدود به جهت دامنه ي واژگان، با بهره‌گيري طرز سمبوليسم، با ايجاد تجسم در جهت اثبات با كانون قرار دادن مفاهيم شب و زمستان، با كاركرد اجتماعي شعر همراه و منطبق است. به لحاظ ساختار تصويرپردازي، شب و زمستان به‌عنوان تصوير مركزي، در كانون قرار دارد كه با استفاده از تشبيه بليغ و مرسل و همچنين با بهره از نمادپردازي، تصاوير شعري خلق شده‌اند. لحن اين تصوير بر اساس موسيقي شعر كه بر وزن بحر رمل است، لحني خطابي دارد و همچون يك بيانيه‌ي انتقادي، هم به نقد جامعه و هم به دعوت آن‌ها براي پيوستن به شاعر مي‌پردازد.
