Negative facts and Truthmaker for Negative propositions

براساس حداكثرگرايي در باب صادق ساز، هر گزاره ي صادقي صادق ساز دارد. يكي از مسائل پيش روي حداكثرگرايان اين است كه صادق سازهاي گزاره هاي سالبه چه نوع اموري هستند؟ پاسخ هاي متعددي از سوي حداكثرگرايان به اين مسئله داده شده است. يك رده از اين پاسخ ها مبتني بر امور منفي است. در اين مقاله بعد از معرفي كوتاه مسئله، اشاره اي به بعضي پاسخهايي كه مبتني بر امور منفي هستند و برخي از اشكالاتي كه دارند خواهيم داشت. اين پاسخ ها به ترتيب مبتني هستند بر وضعيت تام، قطبيت، غياب و واقعيت هاي منفيِ بنيادين. براساس راه حل مبتني بر وضعيت تام، علاوه بر واقعيت هاي مثبت، واقعيت هاي ديگري متشكل از تماميتِ واقعيت هاي مثبت وجود دارند كه صادق ساز گزاره هاي سالبه خواهند بود. براساس پاسخِ نظريه قطبيت، اشياء مي توانند ويژگي ها را به دو نحو مثبت يا منفي تحقق بخشند و واقعيت هاي منفي كه حاصل تحقق بخشيِ منفيِ ويژگي ها توسط اشياء هستند، صادق ساز گزاره هاي سالبه هستند. براساس پاسخِ نظريه غياب، صادق ساز گزاره هاي سالبه غيابِ صادق سازِ گزاره ي ايجابيِ متناظرش است. براساس پاسخِ نظريه واقعيت هاي منفيِ بنيادين، واقعيت هاي منفي همانند واقعيت هاي مثبت به نحو بنيادين متحققند و اين واقعيت ها صادق ساز گزاره هاي سالبه هستند. در ادامه به ارائه ي راه حلي براي اين مسئله مبتني بر واقعيت هاي منفي و بر اساس تحقق اعدام مضاف پرداخته و نشان مي دهيم كه اين راه حل بسياري از اشكالات ديدگاه هاي مشابه را ندارد.

According to the maximalism about truthmaker, every true proposition has a truthmaker. One of the challenges faces maximalism is: what kind of entities are truthmakers of negative propositions? There are many solutions suggested by maximalists. One class of these solutions is based on negative entities. In the present paper we first briefly explain the problem. Then we indicate some solutions which are based on negative entities and some objections. These solutions are based on views entitled “totality states of affairs”, “polarity”, “absences” and “fundamental negative facts”. According to the solution based on totality states of affairs, in every negative case, in addition to positive facts the totality of them makes another fact, which in turn, plays the role of Truthmaker of negative proposition. According to the polarity solution, objects instantiate the properties into positive and negative manner and negative facts that result from the negative instantiation are considered as Truthmaker of negative propositions. According to the absence solution, the Truthmaker of negative proposition is considered as the absence of Truthmaker belonging to its alternative positive proposition. According to the fundamental negative facts solution, fundamentally there are negative facts the same as positive facts and these facts are Truthmaker of negative propositions. Finally, we will present our solution to the problem which is based on negative facts considered as the exemplification of relative non- entities, and we will show that this solution is free from the objections to which other solutions confront.
