مسئلۀ اين مقاله توضيح به وجود آمدن صور نوين بيگانگي در دورۀ پست‌مدرن است. به اين منظور پس از بيان منظور از دورۀ پست‌مدرن و شرح نظريه‌هاي شكل‌گرفته در آن، به توضيح دو مفهوم «بيگانگي» و «بيگانگي پست‌مدرن» پرداخته‌ايم. در نهايت منطق به وجود آمدن «بيگانگي پست‌مدرن» را شرح داده‌ايم. اين مقاله مدعي است در دورۀ پست‌مدرن مفهوم «تفاوت» به يكي از محوري‌ترين مفاهيم نظري بدل شد. پست‌مدرنيسم با نقد كلان‌روايت‌هاي مدرن، به دنبال به رسميت‌شناختن امر خاص، امر به حاشيه رفته و امر فرهنگي بود. در اين فضا نظريه‌پردازي دربارۀ تفاوت همگام با جنبش‌هاي فرودستاني نظير زنان، سياهان و مخالفان استعمار پيش رفت. اما تمركز بر مفهوم تفاوت به توليد شكل‌هايي از دانش و آگاهي انجاميد كه از درك شباهت خود با ديگري ناتوان بود. «بيگانگي پست‌مدرن» باعث شد هم نظريات علوم اجتماعي و هم جنبش‌هاي جديد اجتماعي از درك منطق عمل سرمايه‌داري نئوليبرال و پيوندهاي ميان آن با پست‌مدرنيسم فرهنگي بازمانند.

This paper seeks to analyze new forms of alienation in the postmodern era. To this end, following an explanation of “postmodern era” and theories generated in this era, concepts of alienation and postmodern alienation will be explored. Finally, an explanation is offered of the genesis of “postmodern alienation”. This paper argues that in postmodern era the concept of “difference” became the most central theme in both social theories and new social movements. By questioning modern meta-narratives, postmodernism sought to recognize the particular, the marginal and the cultural. In this era, theorizing about the concept of “difference” was simultaneous with blacks, women, postcolonial and other social movements. Focus on “difference,” however, resulted in the emergence of forms of knowledge and consciousness incapable of acknowledging similarities with others. Consequently, “postmodern alienation” prevents both social theories and social movements from understanding the logic of neoliberal capitalism and its ties with cultural postmodernism.
