Digital Controversy of Iran and the US (case Study: Mohamad Javad Zarif and Mike Pompeo)

توييتر از جمله ميكروبلاگينگ هاي اثرگذار در سياست خارجي و ديپلماسي ديجيتال بشمار مي رود. اغلب سياستمداران جهان براي انتشار اطلاعات، برقراري تعامل با مخاطب و تصويرسازي از خود و ديگري بمنظور ديپلماسي عمومي در اين ميكروبلاگينگ حضور فعالي دارند. مايك پمپيو و محمد جواد ظريف از جمله سياستمداراني هستند كه با تصويرسازي از خود و ديگري از طريق توييپلماسي بدنبال جلب مثبت افكار عمومي جهاني نسبت به سياست هاي دولت متبوع شان هستند. از اينرو نگارندگان با استفاده از نرم افزار مكس .كيو.دي.اي و از طريق كدگذاري سه مرحله اي، به اين پرسش پاسخ خواهند داد: اين دو سياستمدار چه تصويري از خود و ديگري را و با چه هدفي در مقابل يكديگر در توييتر بازنمايي مي كنند؟ نتايج حاصل از تجزيه و تحليل محتواي توييت هاي ظريف حاكي از تصويرسازي كشور قانونگرا و صلح جو براي ايران و تصوير زورگو و تروريسم اقتصادي براي آمريكا بوده است. اين در حالي بوده كه پمپيو در تصويرسازي از خود، تصاوير آمريكاي صلح طلب و بدنبال مهار ايران و در تصوير از ايران (ديگري)، تصاوير حامي ترويسم، اقتدارگرا، ميليتاريست و هرج و مرج طلب را نمايش داده است. اين پژوهش از نوع كمي-كيفي و به روش تحليل محتوا انجام شده و نگارندگان با بكارگيري تيوري تصوير، سعي در ارزيابي بازنمايي اين دو سياستمدار از سياست هاي كشور خود در توييتر دارند.

Twitter is among the most effective microblogging in digital foreign policy and diplomacy. Most world politicians have active presence in in this micro blogging in order to disseminate their information, interact with their audience, and illustrate themselves or others for the purpose of public diplomacy. Mohamad Javad Zarif and Mike Pompeo are among politicians who illustrate themselves and the other through twiplomacy, seeking world positive public opinion towards their respective Governments. Therefore, the writers of this paper have used MAXQDA and three-step coding to answer this question: what image are these two politicians illustrating of themselves and of the other on Twitter, and for what purpose? The results of the content analysis of Zarif indicate an illustration of a law-abiding and peaceful country for Iran and an illustration of a bully and economic-terrorist for the United States. Notwithstanding that Pompeo illustrated a peaceful America, seeking the containment of Iran, and also illustrating Iran as the supporter of terrorism, authoritarian, militarist, and anarchist. This is a quantitative-qualitative research conducted through content analysis and the writers are seeking to assess the presentations of these two politicians from their own Government policies on Twitter by illustration theory.
