The Position of Sports Diplomacy in Iran's Foreign Policy after the Islamic Revolution in 1979

ديپلماسي ورزشي از انواع ديپلماسي‌هاي عمومي است كه امروزه جايگاه ويژه‌اي در سياست خارجي كشورها دارد. شرايط ويژۀ جمهوري اسلامي ايران، ضرورت پرداختن به ديپلماسي ورزشي كارامد را دوچندان مي‌نمايد. دولت‌هاي بعد از انقلاب اسلامي همواره در پي استفاده از ظرفيت‌هاي قدرت نرم برآمده‌اند، اما در اين زمينه كارامدي مناسبي نداشته‌اند و با چالش‌هاي مختلفي روبه‌رو بوده‌اند. استفاده از ديپلماسي ورزشي درست و كارامد مي‌تواند دولتمردان را در پيشبرد اهداف سياسي خود به‌ويژه در عرصۀ روابط بين‌الملل و ايجاد صلح جهاني ياري كند. سؤال اصلي اين پژوهش عبارت است از اينكه جايگاه ديپلماسي ورزشي در دولت‌هاي روي‌كارآمدۀ ايران پس از انقلاب اسلامي چگونه بوده است؟ در اين پژوهش با روش توصيفي -تحليلي و با استفاده از منابع كتابخانه‌اي و اسنادي به جايگاه ديپلماسي ورزشي در سياست خارجي كشور، در دولت‌هاي جمهوري اسلامي ايران بعد از انقلاب اسلامي پرداخته شده است. نتايج حاكي از آن بود كه ديپلماسي ورزشي كشور از روند و الگوي خاصي پيروي نمي‌كند، ولي هرچه از صدر انقلاب مي‌گذرد، دولت‌ها بدون توجه به مواضع سياسي خود به استفادۀ بيشتر از اين ديپلماسي در راستاي اهداف خود روي آورده‌اند.

Today, sports diplomacy is one of the types of public diplomacy that has a special place in the foreign policy of countries. The special circumstances of the Islamic Republic of Iran redouble the need for effective sports diplomacy. Governments after the Islamic Revolution have always sought to use the capabilities of soft power, but they have not been effective in this regard and or they have faced various challenges. The use of correct and effective sports diplomacy can help politicians to achieve their political goals, especially in the field of international relations and world peace. The main question of this research is what was the position of sports diplomacy in Iranian governments after the Islamic Revolution? In this research, the position of sports diplomacy in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran after the Islamic Revolution that has been studied by descriptive-analytical method and using library and documentary sources. The results showed that Iranian sports diplomacy does not follow a specific trend and pattern, but as time goes on since the beginning of the revolution, governments, regardless of their political positions, have resorted to using this diplomacy to their advantage.
