چكيده فارسي :
كانت در كتاب دين در محدوده عقل تنها، بر مبناي زمينه‌هاي تربيتي پيتيستي و تاكيد بر دوگانگي طبيعت انسان به لحاظ خير و شر، در متن مسيحيت به تشريح تلقي خود از دين مي‌پردازد. وي با استناد به ذات خير انسان در آغاز خلقت، او را بر حسب استعدادش موجودي خير و بر حسب ذات محسوس و ملموس‌اش موجودي شرور معرفي مي‌كند كه پس از كشاكش ميان دو اصل خير و شر، نهايتا به غلبه خير و برقراري حكومت خداوند بر زمين منجر مي‌شود. مي‌توان گفت كه نظام ديني او در جهت اصلاح انسان و مكمل نظام اخلاقي اوست؛ چراكه معتقد است در نهايت، رود خروشان اراده‌هاي نيك بايد به هم بپيوندند و جامعه مشترك المنافع اخلاقي را شكل دهند و سرانجام، فضل الهي تضمين كننده اين جامعه است. كانت تلاش مي‌كند تا حقيقت كتاب مقدس را بر مبناي مضاميني كه كاملا جدا از سنت تاريخي لحاظ مي كند، روشن نمايد. وي در اين جهت، از اخلاق، مسيحيت، كليسا و كتاب مقدس به عنوان يك نمونه و الگوي اوليه و وسيله‌اي براي آنچه دين اخلاقي ناب مي نامد بهره مي‌جويد تا از رهگذر دستيابي به آن در اقدامي ناموجه، دين تاريخي را حذف نمايد. اما ديدگاه او تقليل‌گرايانه مي‌نمايد چرا كه ابعاد شريعتي، كلامي، مناسكي را در بعد اخلاقي محدود مي‌كند و ما با نوعي فروكاهي دين به اخلاق از سوي او مواجه‌ايم. انديشه كانت را مي‌توان نمونه اي از تاكيد بر خودبنيادي انسان دانست كه انتقادهاي زيادي بر آن وارد است.
