روايتي درباره وصيت شب رحلت پيامبر6 در كتاب الغيبه طوسي وارد شده و در آن علاوه بر دوازده امام، از دوازده مهدي هم سخن به ميان آمده و احمدبن اسماعيل بصري با توجه به دوازده مهدي ياد شده، خود را به عنوان اولين مهدي معرفي كرده و براي اثبات ادعاي خود به اين حديث استناد كرده و با توجه به شهادت طوسي در نقل تعدادي حديث از خاصه كه حديث مورد بحث هم يكي از آنهاست، آن را صحيح‌السند دانسته است، در حالي كه شهادت طوسي به اين معنا نيست كه راويان اين دسته از روايات و از جمله روايت وصيت شيعه امامي هستند، چون سه شيعه غير امامي و حداقل شش راوي عامي‌المذهب در سند اين روايت‌ها وجود دارد، از طرفي مذهب تعدادي از راويان حديث وصيت هم معلوم نيست، بنابراين با وجود شش راوي عامه و سه شيعه غير امامي و يك امامي فاسدالمذهب، نمي‌توان به اعتبار شهادت طوسي قايل به خاصه و شيعه امامي بودن راويان حديث وصيت شد.

In addition, the religion of some of the narrators of the hadith of the will is not known. Therefore, despite the fact that there are 6 Sunni narrators, 3 non-Imami Shiite narrators and one bad religion Imami Shiite, because of the authenticity of Tusi's testimony may not believe that the narrators of the will are Shiites.
