سنت استبدال و استخلاف، از مهمترين سنت هاي الهي در راستاي موعودباوري و مهدويت است. براساس اين دو سنت در طول تاريخ افراد و اقوام جايگزين افراد و اقوام ديگر شده تا برجستگاني كه از هر نظر بي نظير هستند، به منصه ظهور برسند. اين تبديل در راستاي هدف خلقت و تجلي عبادت عاشقانه توسط آن برجستگان صورت مي گيرد. ارتداد، كوتاهي نسبت به احكام الهي و جهاد از مهم ترين عوامل استبدال و استخلاف است. محبوب خداوند، محب خداوند، فروتني، مجاهدت در راه خداوند و عدم هراس از سرزنش سرزنش كنندگان از مهم ترين ويژگي هاي قوم جايگزين است. اين دو سنت در راستاي هدف خلقت است و هدف خلقت انتخاب افراد برگزيده است كه با ظهور قايم آل محمد به اكمال مي رسد.

Apostasy, neglect of divine commandments and jihad are the most important factors of exchange and substitution. Being beloved of Allah, devoted of Allah, having humility, striving in the way of Allah, and not being afraid of blaming the accusers, are the most important characteristics of the alternative people. These two traditions are in the line with the purpose of creation, and the purpose of creation is to select the chosen people, which will be completed with the advent of Qaem Al-Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him).
