چكيده فارسي :
در مقاله حاضر به بررسي نقش و جايگاه هويت بر تخاصمات جمهوري اسلامي ايران و آمريكا بين سال‌هاي 1979 تا 2018 خواهيم پرداخت. بر اين اساس پرسش اصلي عبارت است از: هويت چه تأثيري بر تخاصمات جمهوري اسلامي ايران و ايالات متحده آمريكا بين سال‌هاي 1979 تا 2018 داشته است؟
پاسخ موقت به پرسش حاضر عبارت است از: هويت انقلابي - اسلامي جمهوري اسلامي ايران در تقابل با هويت هژمونيك ايالات متحده آمريكا بوده كه همواره موجب تخاصمات در روابط دو كشور بين سال‌هاي 1979 تا 2018 شده است.
پاسخ موقت به پرسش مقاله حاضر كه به روش توصيفي ـ تحليلي صورت گرفته اين است كه هويت انقلابي - اسلامي جمهوري اسلامي ايران در تقابل با هويت استكباري ايالات متحده آمريكا بوده كه همواره موجب تخاصمات در روابط دو كشور بين سال‌هاي 1979 تا 2018 شده است. در واقع آنچه مانع ايجاد روابط معمول ميان طرفين گرديده، در سطح گفتماني و يا رفتاري نيست، بلكه ناشي از هويت تقابلي ايران و آمريكاست كه به صورت رابطه‌اي در فرايند برخوردِ ستيزه‌جويانه و تقابلي اين دو كشور در بيش از چهل سال گذشته تكوين يافته است.

In this article, we will examine the role and position of identity in the conflicts between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States between 1979 and 2018. Accordingly, the main question is: What effect did identity have on the conflicts between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America between 1979 and 2018?
The temporary answer to the present question is: The revolutionary-Islamic identity of the Islamic Republic of Iran is in opposition to the hegemonic identity of the United States of America, which has always caused conflicts in the relations between the two countries between 1979 and 2018.
