The mediating role of low self-control in the relationship between personality traits and problematic and risky Internet use in male and female students

مقدمه: در بين نوجوانان و جوانان استفادة مشكل­آفرين از اينترنت به يك عامل تهديد كنندة سلامت تبديل شده است. پژوهش حاضر با هدف آزمون نقش واسطه­اي خودكنترلي پايين در رابطة ويژگي­هاي شخصيتي و رفتار استفادة پرخطر و مشكل­آفرين از اينترنت در دانشجويان دختر و پسر انجام شد. روش: 450 دانشجو (230 پسر و 220 دختر) به فهرست پنج عامل بزرگ (جان و استريستاوا، 1999)، مقياس خودكنترلي پايين (گراسميك، تيتلي، بورسيك و آرنيكليو، 1993) و مقياس غربالگري استفادة پرخطر و مشكل­آفرين از اينترنت (جلينكينگ و همكاران، 2014) پاسخ دادند. نتايج:يافته‌ها نشان داد كه در كل نمونه و در هر دو گروه دانشجويان دختر و پسر، مدل واسطه­مندي نسبي خودكنترلي پايين در رابطة ويژگي­هاي شخصيتي و استفادة پرخطر و مشكل­آفرين از اينترنت با داده­ها برازش مطلوبي داشت. علاوه بر اين، نتايج تخصيص گروهي روابط ساختاري نشان داد كه روابط بين متغيرها در دو گروه دانشجويان دختر و پسر هم­ارز بودند. نتايج نشان داد كه در مدل كلي و مدل­هاي مربوط به دانشجويان دختر و پسر، تمامي وزن­هاي رگرسيوني از لحاظ آماري معنادار بودند. بحث و نتيجه‌گيري: نتايج نشان داد كه بخشي از پراكندگي بين قلمروهاي مفهومي ويژگي­هاي شخصيتي و رفتار استفادة پرخطر از اينترنت از طريق تغيير در نمرات خودكنترلي پايين دانشجويان دختر و پسر قابل تبيين است.

Introduction: Problematic internet use has become a health threat among adolescents and young adults. The aim of present research was to investigate the mediating role of low self-control in the relationship between personality traits and problematic and risky Internet use in male and female students. Method: The results showed that the partial mediation model of low self-control had a good fit with the data in the relationship between personality traits and problematic and risky internet use in total sample and in both groups of male and female students. In addition, the results of group allocation of structural relationships showed that the relationships between the variables were equivalent in the two groups of male and female students. The results showed that all regression weights were statistically significant in the general model and models related to male and female students. Results: The results showed that the partial mediation model of low self-control had a good fit with the data in the relationship between personality traits and problematic and risky internet use in total sample and in both groups of male and female students. Discussion and conclusion: The results showed that part of variance between the conceptual domains of personality traits and risky internet use behavior can be explained by changes in the low self-control scores of male and female students
