جوامع بشري هماره با چالش شهوت‌پرستي مواجه بوده و هستند. روايات مهدوي از نمود و بروز افراط در شهوت جنسي در آخرالزمان حكايت دارد و آن را از اشراط الساعة برشمرده و اين دوران را به «بدترين دوران زندگي بشر» معرفي كرده است. پرده‌دري حجاب‌ها، گرايش شديد و سرعت به لذات حيواني، حلال كردن حرام الهي در اطفاء غريزه جنسي و... از جمله نشانه‌هاي چنين رفتاري در عصر غيبت است كه وجه اشتراك همه آنها جرأت به شكستن حدود الهي است. از ديگر سو قرآن كريم و روايات، با تبيين قرقگاه الهي و چگونگي اهتمام به آن، راهكار مواجهه با چنين پديده‌اي را در سه ساحت نگرشي و گرايشي و رفتاري ارائه نموده است. نوشتار پيش رو با روش توصيفي _ تحليلي، ضمن آسيب‌شناسي چالش پيش‌گفته، آثارِ كاربست قاعده حريم حمي در مواجهه با افراط‌گرايي جنسي در آخرالزمان را تبيين مي‌نمايد. اجراي چنين قاعده‌اي كه مبتني بر آيات قرآن و روايات معصومان؟عهم؟ است، نقش اساسي در مواجهه موفق با چالش شهوت‌پرستي و نيز پاسباني از جامعه منتظر دارد.
