The Role of Body Image and Social Comparison on Sexual Health of Elderly Women

هدف هدف از انجام اين پژوهش تعيين نقش تصوير بدني و مقايسه اجتماعي در سلامت جنسي زنان سالمند بود. روش پژوهش حاضر از نظر هدف كاربردي و از نظر روش پژوهش توصيفي-همبستگي بود و جامعه آماري در اين پژوهش شامل كليه زنان سالمند آسايشگاه كهريزك شهر تهران بودند كه سن آن ها شصت سال به بالا بود. حجم نمونه براساس فرمول تاباكينگ (2007)، 200 نفر و اين تعداد به روش نمونه گيري تصادفي ساده انتخاب شدند. ابزار گردآوري داده ها در اين پژوهش پرسشنامه استاندارد سياهه نگراني از تصوير بدني ليتلتون، آكسوم و پوري (2005)، مقياس جهت گيري مقايسه اجتماعي گيبونز و بانك (1999) و سلامت جنسي معنوي پور، پيرخايفي، روحاني و ديباجي (1388) بود. جهت تحليل از ضريب همبستگي پيرسون و تحليل رگرسيون چند متغيره استفاده شد يافته ها نتايج نشان داد كه متغير تصوير بدني و مقايسه اجتماعي قادر به پيش بيني سلامت جنسي زنان سالمند هستند، با توجه به مقدار Beta متغير تصوير بدني سهم بيشتري (0/409) نسبت به سهم مقايسه اجتماعي (0/307) در پيش بيني سلامت جنسي زنان سالمند داشت نتيجه گيري نتايج به دست آمده در اين مطالعه مبني بر نقش پيش بيني كننده تصوير بدني و مقايسه اجتماعي در سلامت جنسي سالمندان، لزوم توجه به جنبه هاي مختلف سلامت جنسي در سالمندان به را مي رساند.

Aim The aim of this study was to determine the role of body image and social comparison in sexual health of older women. Method The present study was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of research method. The statistical population in this study included all elderly women in Kahrizak sanatorium in Tehran who were sixty years old and above and volunteered to promote the sexual health of elderly women per year. 1399 and also the sample size of the research was considered based on the available sampling method of 200 people. Data collection tools in this study were three standard questionnaires: Littleton, Axom and Poori (2005), Gibbons and Bank (1999) Social Comparison Orientation Scale, and Manoupour, Pir Khaifi, Rouhani and Dibaji. (2009) was used. Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression analysis were used for analysis. Results The results showed that the variables of body image and social comparison are able to predict the sexual health of older women. Therefore, it can be concluded that the inability to achieve ideal physique is associated with behavioral and emotional consequences, and these disorders can endanger their sexual health. Through social comparison, they can resolve their issues in the most desirable way and experience the best state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexual issues. Conclusion The results obtained in this study based on the predictive role of body image and social comparison in the sexual health of the elderly, the need to pay attention to various aspects of sexual health in the elderly.
