براي دست‌يابي به يك توسعه پايدار و با ثبات، بايد زمينه‌هاي پرورش خلاقيت، نوآوري و توانايي پرداختن به رويكردهاي فناورانه را در آموزش عالي توسعه داده و سطح سواد علمي- فناورانه را در جامعه معلمان افزايش دهيم. از اهم فناوري هاي نو مي توان به فناوري نانو كه كاربردهاي آن درهمة عرصه هاي صنعت و اجتماع گسترده است اشاره كرد كه لازم است حركت ترويجي بزرگي وجود داشته باشد كه همة دانشجو معلمان آگاهي لازم براي ورود به اين عرصه را كسب نمايند. در بسياري از كشورها آشنايي با اين فناوري‌ها را از مدارس ابتدايي آغاز كرده‌اند و با يك برنامه درسي مناسب به آموزش دانش‌آموزان مي‌پردازند. در كشور ما نيز مدارس بايد از نيازهاي جامعه به نيروي كاري متخصص و علمي در عرصه‌هاي جديد آگاه باشند و در اين راستا مسئولين و سياست‌گذاران و برنامه ريزان دانشگاه فرهنگيان وظيفه خطيري در تربيت معلمان متخصص بر دوش دارند و بايد براي تربيت نيروهاي متخصص در اين زمينه برنامه درسي مناسبي تدوين نمايند. بنابراين بازنگري در برنامه درسي و سياست‌هاي آموزشي امري ضروري است.
