بيت‌المعمور واژه‌اي است كه تنها يك بار در قرآن كريم(طور/4) از آن ياد شده است. اما اين كه ماهيت آن چيست؟ در كجا قرار دارد؟ چگونه است؟ و... در قرآن تصريح نشده است. مفسران به شيوه‌هاي مختلفي به تفسير، تشريح و تعيين مصداق براي اين واژه پرداخته‌اند به‌طوري كه اختلاف اين تفسيرها تا جايي‌است كه نظرات يكديگر را نقض نموده‌اند. پس براي كشف حقيقت بايد به روايات معصومين(ع) مراجعه نمود كه البته روايات زيادي نيز در اين زمينه وارد شده و اختلافات بسيار شديدي با هم دارند. برخي از اين روايات و اخبار گوياي اين است كه بيت المعمور در آسمان است و البته اين كه در كدام آسمان است آن هم متفاوت ذكر شده، برخي مطلق آسمان گفته اند، برخي ديگر آسمان اول، نقل‌هايي آسمان چهارم، و در رواياتي آسمان ششم و بالأخره آسمان هفتم، بالاي آسمان هفتم و زير عرش و برخي نيز بيت‌المعمور را در زمين از جمله: كعبه‌ي مشرّفه، بيت‌المقدس و... معرفي كرده‌اند. ولي آن چيزي كه از كنار هم گذاشتن اخبار و روايات مختلف به دست مي‌آيد؛ اين است كه مي‌توان در مورد هر عبادتگاهي در زمين و آسمان‌ها كه انسان‌ها و فرشتگان در آن عبادت مي‌كنند؛ اصطلاح بيت‌المعمور را به كار برد. بنابراين مي‌توان تمام مساجد و معابد موجود در زمين و همه‌ي عبادتگاه‌هاي فرشتگان در آسمان‌ها را بيت‌المعمور ناميد.

Commentators have interpreted, descripted, and determined the instance for this word, so that the disagreement of these interpretations are to the extent that they contradict each other's views. So to discover the truth one should refer to the traditions of the infallibles (AS), which of course have many traditions in this field and they have very sharp differences. Some of these traditions and news indicate that Beit Almamour is in heaven and, of course, in which heaven it is mentioned differently, some say absolute heaven, others first heaven, fourth heaven narrations, and in the traditions of the sixth heaven narrations, and Finally the seventh heaven, above the seventh heaven, and under the throne, and some also Beit Almamour in the earth, including: These have been introduced the Kaba of Mosharafeh, Jerusalem, etc. But what brings together the various news and traditions; that is it can be in any place of worship on earth and in the heavens where humans and angels worship. It used the term Beit Almamour. Therefore all the mosques and temples on earth and all the places of worship of the angels in heaven can be called Beit Almamour.
