شعر دو قرن اخير اسطوره، روايت‌هاي افسانه اي و زبان كهن بي تاثير نبوده است. قله رفيع برآمده از پيشينه سترگ ادبيات حماسي ، شاهنامه فردوسي است كه از ادب حماسي مي توان آن را مادر ادبيات پارسي دري ناميد. در دوقرن اخير اثار حماسي در ادبيات به تبع شاهنامه فردوسي وآثار پيشينيان، در نوع ملي، ديني، تاريخي و نيز حماسه آفريني هاي پرشور انقلابي پديد آمد. وجه عام اين آثار رنگ و بوي ملي است. حتي در حماسه‌هاي ديني اين برجستگي را مي‌توان ديد. نتيجه بررسي آثار حماسي و حماسه گونه ها اين است كه ادبيات حماسي در دو قرن اخير را، مي توان به دو دوره تقسيم كرد. دوره قبل از نيما و دوره بعد از نيما : همه آثار حماسي دورة قبل از نيما به تأسي از شاهنامه فردوسي در همان سبك زباني و وزن و قالب سنتي سروده اند و نوآوري چنداني جز تفاوت مضمون در آنها نيست و فقط مي توان آنها را در رديف آخرين مقلدان شاهنامه محسوب كرد.اما در دوره بعد از نيما، گونه هاي به كارگيري حماسه در ادبيات معاصر، بيشتر در سه محور نگرش حماسي، زبان حماسي و وزن و قالب حماسي بوده است.

The poetry of the last two centuries has not been ineffective in myths, legends and ancient languages. The high literary summit derived from the great history of epic literature, is Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, which can be called the mother of Dari Persian literature. In the last two centuries, epic works in literature, under the influence of Shahnameh and the works of its predecessors, appeared in national, religious, historical, as well as passionate revolutionary epic. The general aspect of these works is their national feature. This prominence can be seen even in religious epics. The result of the study of epic works and epic genres is that the epic literature of the last two centuries can be divided into two periods. The period before Nima and the period after Nima: All the epic works of the pre-Nima period are based on Shahnameh with the same style, language, weight and traditional format, and no innovation but the content can be found. They can be considered as the last imitators of Shahnameh. However, in the period after Nima, the types of epic used in contemporary literature have been mostly in the three axes of epic attitude, epic language and epic rhyme and format.
