هويت ملي از مفاهيم كليدي در نظم بخشي به واحدهاي سياسي است كه با كار ويژه‌هاي مهمي چون: ملت-سازي، همبستگي و اتحاد ملي، زمينه‌هاي بقاي يك موجوديت سياسي (كشور) را فراهم مي‌كند. از اين رو، دولتمردان تلاش مي‌كنند با ابزار و روش‌هاي مختلفي، زمينه‌هاي تقويت همبستگي ملي و در نتيجه قدرتمندي و بقاي كشورشان را فراهم آورند. در اين ميان، نقش آموزش و پرورش به عنوان تنها نهاد رسمي كه تربيت شهروندي را با ارايۀ عناصر آموزشي همچون محتوا و تصاوير كتاب‌هاي درسي و فضاي فيزيكي آموزشي بر عهده دارد، در شناخت مولفه‌هاي هويت ملي بسيار حائز اهميت است. يكي از كتاب‌هاي درسي كه مي‌تواند نقش بسيار مهمي در هويت و همبستگي ملي داشته باشد، جغرافياي پايۀ دهم است كه با عنوان جغرافياي ايران به تمام دانش‌آموزان تدريس مي‌شود. پژوهش حاضر با رويكرد تحليل محتوا، تلاش كرده است محتوا و تصاوير اين كتاب را در سال 1399-1400 مورد بررسي قرار دهد. نتايج نشان داد، از سه عنصر مهم هويت‌ساز، در اين كتاب 687 مورد (84 درصد) به عنصر كشور و مؤلفه‌هاي آن؛ 75 مورد (9 درصد) به عنصر جمعيت و مؤلفه‌هاي آن و 53 مورد (7 درصد) نيز به عنصر حكومت و مؤلفه‌هاي آن پرداخته شده است. اما؛ هر چند عنوان كتاب «جغرافياي ايران» است، در اين كتاب مهم، تنها به ذكر اسامي و ارايه تصاوير بسنده شده و هيچ تمرين، رفتار يا محتوايي مبني بر هويت‌سازي و همبستگي ملي به ويژه در بُعد جمعيتي، فرهنگي و سياسي در اين كتاب وجود ندارد.

National identity is one of the key concepts in regulating political units that with important special work such as: nation building, solidarity and national unity, provides the grounds for the survival of a political entity (country). Hence, the Governments try to provide the grounds for strengthening national solidarity with various tools and methods. Meanwhile, the role of education as the only official institution that is responsible for educating students by providing educational elements such as content and images of textbooks and physical education space, in introducing and recognizing the components of national identity is very important. One of the textbooks that can play a very important role in national identity and solidarity is tenth grade geography, which is taught to all students under the title of Geography of Iran. The present study has tried to examine the content and images of this book in 1399-1400 with the content analysis approach. The results showed That from three important elements of identity, in this book 687 cases (84%) to the element of the country and its components; 75 cases (9%) have dealt with the element of population and its components and 53 cases (7%) have dealt with the element of government and its components. But; Although the title of the book is "Geography of Ir@n", in this important book, only mention the names and images and There is no exercise, behavior or content based on national identity and solidarity, especially in the demographic, cultural and political dimension in this book.
