هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسي تأثير ظرفيت‌هاي اقتصادي (صادرات و واردات) مرزي در ايجاد امنيت و پيشرفت براي مردم استان سيستان و بلوچستان مي‌باشد.روش اين تحقيق به‌صورت مطالعه اسنادي (كتابخانه‌اي در فضاي واقعي) مي‌باشد.گستره مرزهاي آبي و خاكي در استان؛ لزوم افزايش تبادلات مرزي را بين همسايگان در جهت رونق اقتصادي براي آنان را ضروري مي‌سازد،استان سيستان و بلوچستان كه يكي از بزرگ‌ترين و جوان‌ترين استان‌هاي كشور مي‌باشد ،كه مطمع نظر بيگانگان و گروهك‌هاي معاند مي‌باشد تا از ضعف‌ها، چالش‌ها و كمبودهاي اقتصادي سوءاستفاده نموده و تهديدهاي اقتصادي را به تهديدهاي اجتماعي-فرهنگي و سياسي و درنهايت؛ نظامي تبديل نمايند.لذا از ظرفيت (نعمت) مرز و تبادلات مرزي در ايجاد رونق اقتصادي و اشتغال پايدار؛بهترين استفاده را مي‌توان نمود كه تأثير مستقيمي بر امنيت و پيشرفت و افزايش مشاركت‌هاي مردم در اين استان دارد.برنامه‌ريزي‌هاي اقتصادي در راستاي افزايش تبادلات مرزي با مشاركت مردم بخصوص مرزنشينان و رونق بازارچه‌ها و پايانه‌هاي مرزي در افزايش نرخ تبادلات مرزي(صادرات و واردات)در بين همسايگان در اين مورد ضروري مي‌باشد. لذا استفاده از تجربه‌هاي گذشته و آسيب‌شناسي در راستاي رفع موانع و چالش‌ها و جلب مشاركت واقعي مرزنشينان مي‌تواند در تكميل فرايند مربوطه مفيد باشد. درنهايت نيز رونق تبادلات اقتصادي در تغيير نگاه امنيتي به اجتماعي به استان و جلب و جذب سرمايه‌گذاري داخلي و خارجي در تمامي زمينه‌هاي اقتصادي و ترانزيتي در بين كشورهاي همسايه در شرق،شمال شرق و شمال با استفاده از ظرفيت‌هاي مرزهاي آبي و خاكي بخصوص بندر چابهار تأثيرگذار مي‌باشد.
