كشفيات و تجربه‌هاي زياد در ابتداي قرن بيستم نشان ‌داد كه فيزيك كلاسيك براي به تصوير كشيدن صورت صحيحي از عالم طبيعت كافي نيست و همين نارسائي‌ها منجر شد تا تفكر بشر در مسير جديدي از علم فيزيك قرار گيرد. در نگرش جديد فيزيك، نگاه به پديده‌هاي هستي‌، نگاه به اجزاي جدانشدني و در كنش و واكنش يك كل هماهنگ است. از سوي ديگر در حكمت متعاليه با توجه به مباني فلسفي صدرا مانند تشكيك طولي و عرضي، وجود زمان مشترك و... نظامي از عالم طبيعت توصيف شده كه با يافته هاي جديد فيزيك مسانخت بسيار دارد. يكي از بزرگ‌ترين نتايج اين كاوش آن است كه اشياي مادي به صورت متمايز از يكديگر نيستند، بلكه به-گونه‌ي جدايي‌ناپذير، به محيط پيرامون خود متصل شده‌اند و خواص آن‌ها تنها بر حسب ارتباط آن‌ها با كل جهان قابل درك است. اين روابط تا فواصل دوردست عالم كبير و تا ستارگان و كهكشان‌هاي بسيار دور كشانيده مي-شود و درنهايت با تلفيق اين دو نگرش، وحدت عالم هستي در جهان ماكروسكوپي نمايان مي‌شود. تلفيق دست آوردهاي جديد علوم طبيعي با تفكر فلسفي گامي رو به جلو در شناخت بهتر و كامل‌تري از عالم طبيعت است.

Combining the new achievements of the natural sciences with philosophical thinking is a step forward in a better and more complete understanding of the natural world.
