چكيده فارسي :
در طول تاريخِ انديشه‌ي اسطوره‌اي بشر، شاهد اساطير جهان‌شمول بسياري هستيم. اساطيري مانند مرگ، آفرينش و نخستين انسان. فارغ از اينكه خواستگاه اين اساطير مشترك كجا است، اين قبيل اسطوره‌ها كاركردهاي مشابهي با يكديگر دارند. براي مثال، مرگ در بسياري از اساطير، حاصل گناه يا دشمني بوده است يا انسان‌ها با وجود آنكه تمايل بسياري به جاودانگي داشته‌اند، به‌سبب گناه خويش، نفرين اهريمن يا دشمني خدايان، مي‌ميرند. بنابراين مرگ در بيشتر مواقع براي انسان هراس‌آور بوده است. مرگ به‌‌عنوان يكي از مهم‌ترين اضطراب‌هاي بشري، شكل‌هاي گوناگوني به خود مي‌گيرد. كاترين شارر در كتابش نمونه‌اي از اين اضطراب‌ها كه همانا ترس از نابودي است را به كمك متن و تصوير به نمايش درآورده است. در كتاب مرگ بالاي درخت سيب با درنظرگرفتن اشتراكات ميان اساطير در چهره‌ي مرگ، سعي شده است نگاه متفاوتي به مرگ و زندگي ارائه شود. مرگ در اين كتاب حاصل گناه و دشمني نيست، بلكه بخشي از زندگي است. در واقع مرگ، خود زندگي است تاجايي‌كه زندگي بدون مرگ و مرگ بدون زندگي، معنايي ندارد. مرگ در اين كتاب دوشادوش زندگي ايستاده است. پژوهش حاضر با روش توصيفي‌تحليلي انجام شده و در آن سعي كرده‌ايم تا چگونگي بازنمايي مرگ را در متن و تصويرِ كتاب مرگ بالاي درخت سيب بررسي كرده و خاطرنشان كنيم كه جلوه‌ي رعب‌آور مرگ، تنها يك نمود از هزاران جلوه‌ي ديگر آن است.
چكيده لاتين :
During the course of humankind’s mythological history, we come across many common forms of myths. These mythologies include death, creation, etc.
Regardless of the origin of these myths, they share common purposes.
As an example, death is considered a result of sin or enmity and while humankind chases after Immortality, he/she turns mortal as a result of sins or a curse from the gods or the evil forces.
It is clear that humankind has always feared death.
Death, as one of the most important sources of stress, comes in many different forms and Scharer has presented an example of it, the fear of non-existence, through word and image in her book.
In her book “Death on the Apple Tree”, considering the common myth of death, the author has made an effort to present a unique point of view on life and death. In this book, death is not the outcome of sins or enmity but only a part of life. In fact, death is life itself, to the point that life is meaningless without death, as death is without life.
This research has used analytical-descriptive method to study how death is reflected through text and illustrations in "Death on the Apple Tree" and to point out that the mythological side of death is only one of many representations of death.
