تشويق بي نظير اسلام به فراگيري علوم از جمله تأكيد فراوان بر بهداشت وسلامت جسم وروان، مسلمين را واداشت تا به علم طب بيش از ديگر علوم اهميت قائل شوند و آنرا از شريفترين علم ها به شمار آورند. لذا به بركت تعاليم اسلامى مسلمانان به توفيقات بزرگى در امور ترجمه ، علم طب و تأليف متون پزشكى دست يافتند، كه اين امور موجبات ظهور متفكران ومحققان منحصر به فردي در جهان اسلام گرديد تا با شيوه هاي ابداعي خويش در درمان بيماري ها و نيز با تأليفات گرانقدر خود سهم و نقش قابل توجهي را در توسعه دانش پزشكي وبه تبع آن تمدن اسلامي بعمل آوردند .منابع تاريخي نشان از اين دارد كه طب در تمدن اسلامي حائز مقام شامخي بوده و اسلام و تمدن اسلامي به پيشرفت علم پزشكي و جنبه هاي مختلف آن، چه بصورت مستقيم و چه غير مستقيم به ديگر ملتهاي متمدن كمك كرده است.

The unique encouragement of Islam to learn science, including the great emphasis on health and wellness of the body and mind, made Muslims to attach more importance to the science of medicine than other sciences and to consider it as one of the noblest sciences. Therefore, with the blessing of Islamic teachings, Muslims achieved great success in translation, medicine, and writing medical texts, which led to the emergence of unique thinkers and researchers in the Islamic world to treat diseases with their innovative methods and valuable works. Historical sources show that medicine in Islamic civilization has a prominent position, and Islam and Islamic civilization contribute to the development of medical science and its various aspects. It has directly and indirectly helped other civilized nations.
