Productivity of Wheat Production Factors in the Villages of Khorasan Province

During the economic development process, the optimal use of productive resources and potentials makes all the difference. Since the limited and scattered agricultural lands are considered as one of the production constraints in the agriculture sector, this study measured the marginal productivity for wheat in cultivators in the Khorasan province, drawing on the cross-section data. Marginal productivity of wheat cultivators two types of farms, ie small farms (under 5 hectares) and large farms (over 5 hectares), were compared and then analyzed with respect to their difference. The research method was based on the random sampling and the calculations have been made using the "E views" package. The results indicated that the wheat cultivators of the province overused inputs of fertilizers and labours, and that the marginal productivity of the inputs like chemical toxins, machineries and lands was higher in the smaller farms.
