This study was conducted to evaluated resistance cotton 30 genotypes to salinity in the germination stage. Salinity treatments were (0, 5, 10 and 15 dS/m). A completely randomaized design as split-plot experiment was applied. Rate and percentage of germination both in the petridishes and environment at seedling hage was measured. Variables were root and shoot length and root and shoot dry matter, ratio of root to shoot dory weight. Results indicated that there was a decreasing trend for all variables as the salinity increases except for the ratio of root to shoot dry matter. An increase in salinity up to10 dS/m, caused a reduction in the ratio of root to shoot dry matter. But for the 15 ds/m salinity, the result was converse and caused an increase for the ratio of root to shoot dry matter. Shoot length and germination percentage had the highest and the lowest sensitivity to salinity, respectively. Genotypes had different level of resistance to salinity. Genotypes 153f 312 Koker and Zeta-2 had the highest germination rate in 0, 5, 10 and 15 dS/m, respectively. But ASJ*349 and TERMS genotypes had the lowest germination rate in 5, 10 and 15 dS/m, respectively. In the seedling growth stage, KOKER153F*312 and DELTAPAIN-25, had the highest and lowest root length in the 10 and 15 ds/m respectively. KOKER153F*312 and BOLGAR 433 genotypes had the highest root dry matter in the 15 dS/m, while DELTAPAIN-25 had the lowest amount of root dry matter in all. salinity levels. All the correlation between traits at p<0.01 made significant correlation.
