چكيده لاتين :
Efficiency of gene transfer to plants depends on genotype of plants and the adopted method. Tbree varieties of potatoes, Desire, Agria and Cosima were included in this experiment and three types of explant, internode, leave and microtubers were produced from each genotype. PBL 121 plasmid with gus gene under control of CaMV 35S promoter was used as vector . Positive transgenic plants were directly regenerated from leaf discs in the presence of kanamycin as a selectable agent. Transgenic plants were confirmed using r~ PCR. Positive plants were used in gus assay. A high percentage (96%) of these plants showed gus expression of the gene in transformed plants. Even after three sub-culture they indicated a considerable stability of the inserted gene.
