The simplest definition of annual low flow is the least medium daily flow at one year. But because of minimizing the effects of changes and oscillations flow, it is usually definition to the least medium flow in several days, Such as 7, 15, 30 and 60 days during year. For determining cluing flows in ungauged streamflow sites, regional analysis methods arc usually used. Improving method of index flood could he an appropriate tool for this purpose. Therefore, in this study, index flood method is used for estimating low flows in Mazandaran basin and regional low flow frequency curves for 7, 15, 30 and 60 days intervals are obtained. Regional equations of index low flow in terms of catchment characteristics for different intervals are computed. Finally, based on results, improving method of index low flow with regression method are compared. The outcome is that index low flow method indicates the lower accuracy than the regression method, but the different are not high. So according to higher improving method of index flood efficiency, its recommended to use it.
