Analysis of Relationship between Science & Technology Indicators and Industrial Development (A Cononical Corelation Analysis)

The word "development" is a complex concept and no single definition exhaustively covers all of its aspects. In this article, industrial development, one of the most common aspects of development is chosen and its relationship with science technology indicator are investigated in different countries of the world. Universities and university - hased researches as one of most evident aspect of science & technology and its relationship with industrial development is emphasized and the role of states in stablishment & improvement of this relationship is explained through analysis of cononical relations. Certain conclusions are drawn based on this analysis and some specific suggestions about improving the level of science & technology, university - industry relations and industrial development in Iran are suggested.
